Jeff Kline is a name synonymous with creativity and innovation in the world of comics. As the driving force behind Darby Pop Publishing, Kline has carved out a unique space for high-concept storytelling. Founded in 2013, Darby Pop isn’t your run-of-the-mill comic book publisher. It’s a haven for fresh ideas, visually captivating narratives, and a dash of adventure.
Jeff Kline’s journey began long before Darby Pop. His impressive resume boasts multiple Emmy Awards for his work on animated series like “Transformers: Prime,” “G.I. Joe Renegades,” and “Jackie Chan Adventures.” But comics were his true passion, and he decided to create something special – a place where creators could unleash their imaginations.
And so, Darby Pop was born. With a team of talented writers and artists, Jeff Kline set out to redefine the comic book landscape. Sixteen original series and over 100 issues and trade paperbacks later, Darby Pop stands tall as IDW’s first creator-owned imprint. Collaborators like Eric Garcia, John Raffo, Scott Marder, Rob Rosell, and Kline himself contributed to this success story.
Darby Pop didn’t stop there. In 2015, they joined forces with Magnetic Press, expanding their reach. Titles like “Side-Kicked,” “Dead Man’s Party,” “Fake Empire,” and “The Living Finger” found their way into readers’ hearts. Independent publishing became their forte, with gems like “Things You Shouldn’t Remember,” “Bastard’s Waltz,” and “Santa Claus: Private Eye.”
Jeff Kline’s collaboration with Bruce Lee Entertainment resulted in two thrilling projects: “Bruce Lee: The Dragon Rises” and “Bruce Lee: The Walk of the Dragon.” These all-ages comics celebrate the legendary martial artist’s return, blending action, heart, and a touch of magic.
