CARLY WINNCarley Winn loves cosplaying Harley Quinn and has been doing so since 1998. She has over forty versions of this character alone. She is a long time comic book fan of everything from Batman to X-Men. She also is very knowledgeable of retro video games and table tops, and has helped run several LARPs. She was mostly self taught with help from Gosu Loli magazine, which she discovered while studying in Japan. This led her to sewing Lolita fashion, and through cosplay she has made everything from ball gowns to battle wear. What she loves most about cosplaying is doing so with others and for charitable causes. She is a member of Heroes for Hire, a cosplay charity group, and she is also on the board of directors for Circus Complex, a nonprofit circus arts school in Newton. At NECC, she will be fundraising with Team Zombie Leader in The Director’s Room and will be co-hosting Create a Cosplay & other cosplay activities with Red Bark Crafting.
LARCYFirst of her Name, Queen of the Salt, Forger of Unnecessarily Large Weapons, Legendary Mischief-Maker, Conqueror of the CrunchI'm not quite a legend but I am out to make positive waves in the cosplay community. I am a master craftsman cosplayer of approximately 10 years that specializes in nothing but has tried everything. I love making large props (even though I say I won't make more every time) and sewing. I have dabbled in most cosplay craft basics and really enjoy taking artistic liberties with all of my creations. Most people would say that they recognize my work from the choice of subtle (or not) florals that are incorporated into all of my designs. I like to cosplay from a multitude of genres, including games and anime. I have done a few original concepts in the past as well as gijinka.I have been a cosplay judge at several large cons as well as small local cons. I love small local cons the most and I find happiness in the small cosplay groups of New England. I also enjoy a little bit of character charades and anyone who knows me immediately thinks of my Zenitsu antics. Sorry about it!I am hoping to take post-pandemic liberties this year and get back out into the community. I miss the atmosphere of excited fandoms and loving friendships brought together by cosplay and am hoping everything takes a turn for the better in 2022. I can't wait to return! At Northeast Comic Con, I will be presenting topics on character design, cosplay modeling and photography, mental health and cosplay and other similar topics of interest with my friend, Mink the Satyr Cosplay on March 12-13th. We can't wait! Come find us in The Director’s Room, as we are supporting Team Zombie Leader’s 2022 Greater CT Honorary Man of the Year Candidate Campaign for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
MINK THE SATYRMink the Satyr is an award-winning cosplayer based out of Boston,MA. Mink has been cosplaying for 10 years, though she has nearly 20years of costuming experience. She specializes in Pokemon cosplay and is undertaking a massive quest to cosplay all 151 of the original Pokemon!Mink is known for her meticulous sewing and leatherworking skills. She is just as at-home making ball gowns as she is battle armor. She often draws inspiration from her many hobbies including Live Action RolePlaying (LARP) and medieval reenactment with the Society for Creative Anachronisms (SCA). As a result, her costumes often imply historical techniques and are "combat ready" in case she needs to be suddenly whisked away on an adventure in the woods! As of summer 2021, Mink has embarked on her newest adventure: Tubing. This is a manner of streaming content online in which the streamer uses an animated avatar. Mink streams as her satyr-y self three times a week! Tubing combines Mink's love of digital art and her love of performing. You can catch her on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays on twitch! At Northeast Comic Con, Mink will be photo op’ing with Team Zombie Leader for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in the Director’s Room on March 12-13 as well as assisting Red Bark Crafting & Carley Winn with Cosplay duties.
