Mach Bell, a rock singer, songwriter, and author, has been a fixture on the music scene since the 1970s. He gained fame as the lead vocalist of The Joe Perry Project, the solo band of Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry. Additionally, he fronted the Boston-based glam rock group Thundertrain, which enjoyed popularity in the New England club circuit during the late ’70s.

In 1982, Cowboy Mach Bell joined The Joe Perry Project after Perry’s departure from Aerosmith due to personal and creative differences. Mach played a pivotal role in recording the project’s third and final album, ‘Once a Rocker, Always a Rocker,’ featuring hard-hitting anthems like ‘Black Velvet Pants,’ ‘Women in Chains,’ and ‘Power Fever.’ His collaboration with Perry took him on extensive tours across the United States and Canada. It was during this period that Joe Perry bestowed upon him the enduring nickname ‘Cowboy.’

However, life on the road wasn’t without challenges for Mach Bell. He grappled with drug addiction, financial woes, band conflicts, and health issues. Witnessing Aerosmith’s reunion further complicated matters, ultimately leading to Perry’s departure from the project in 1984. Mach Bell chronicled these experiences in his memoir, ‘Rock Survival,’ published in 2023 – a gripping account of his rise, fall, and subsequent journey of resilience and redemption.

Even today, Cowboy Mach Bell remains an active presence in the music world. He leads his own band, The Mach Bell Experience, performing original compositions alongside renditions of his classic hits from The Joe Perry Project and Thundertrain. Additionally, he hosts a radio show called Once a Rocker Radio, where he shares rock music and engages with fellow enthusiasts, and interviews guests from the industry. A member of the New England Music Hall of Fame, Mach has been recognized for his contributions to the local rock scene. Mach is a true legend of rock and roll, who lives by his mantra: “Once a Rocker, Always a Rocker”.

Mach will be autographing his books and albums for free all weekend. Bring in your own copy or purchase them at the show!
