Fan conventions come in every shape and size these days. From very specific niche events to massive clusters of crammed consumers … some are autograph specific, and some artist and art-centric, while others are all about the toys or Cosplay.
The Northeast Comic Con & Collectibles Extravaganza, A Pop Culture Expo, is designed to give the fans the best of all the niches, enhancing the experience with entertainment, education and fun wrapped into the low admission.
NECC K!DZ is for the families, giving the young and young at heart, opportunities to participate in the creative processes, learn from experts, engage with others and be part of an exciting continuous schedule of activities in multiple areas of the facility.
In the K!DZ area, Eplis Comics artist and author Emily Drouin will lead drawing, writing and coloring activities for kids, Eric Bornstein of Behind The Mask Studio will teach mask making, Chamillion Colors will be face painting, Alex Simmons of Archie Comics will be doing workshops in character creation and science in comics, Noel MacNeal of “Bear In The Big Blue House” and Leslie Carrera Rudolph of “Sesame Street” will be teaching puppetry, Marvel artist Rusty Gilligan will be giving away special show art cards and accompanied by his buddy Mac from the comic book “Mac and Trouble.”
The will also be costume contests for K!DZ on the Cosplay Stage and Puppet Shows in the Fez Room, plus live music by upcoming teen pop singer EMMARIE.
The Game Underground Video Game Arena features vintage and modern games and gaming systems set up for free play along with tournaments for prizes.
