Meet Carey Means, the Man Behind Frylock, at NEComicCon Nov. 2023!

Carey Means has been the voice of Frylock on the Adult Swim TV show Aqua Teen Hunger Force (aka “Aqua TV Show Show”), and has appeared in 22 episodes of The Brak Show.

Means has also performed in several theatrical musicals and plays, including South Pacific, Two Trains Running, A Soldier’s Play, and Waiting for Godot. He is a classically trained Shakespearean actor who hails originally from St. Louis, Missouri. He has performed with Theatre of the Stars in such productions as South Pacific and with Actors Express in It’s a Wonderful Town. In addition to acting and voice overs, he’s a talented singer, and dancer.

Carey Means has been the voice of Frylock on Aqua Teen Hunger Force since 2000. Frylock is a floating box of french fries who is the leader and brains of the Aqua Teens, a group of anthropomorphic fast food items who live together in NJ and have various adventures. Frylock is usually the voice of reason and tries to solve problems with his scientific knowledge and inventions – he also has laser eyes that he can use to defend himself or attack enemies.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force isn’t the only Adult Swim show that Carey Means has voiced characters for. He’s also the voice of Thundercleese, a giant robot who lives next door to Brak and his family in The Brak Show. He is obsessed with war and destruction – and his pet goldfish, Mr. Tickles, who he loves dearly – and he often clashes with Brak’s father over their lawn. Thundercleese speaks with a deep voice and a Jamaican accent.

You can also find Means on the Nickeloden show Welcome to the Wayne, a show about three kids who explore a mysterious high-rise apartment building filled with strange and unusual things labeled as “Wayne Phenomena”. Means voices Jonah Bishop, an archaeological professor who seems to be well-versed in Wayne Phenomena.
