This years Cabin Fever edition of the NorthEast ComicCon is dedicated to NEComicCon family member, actor, and friend Paul Bronk, who passed away suddenly on May 17, 2023. Born on June 4, 1961, in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, Paul’s journey through life was marked by a profound love for theater, family, and the joy of bringing people together.
From his early days in Newton, Massachusetts, Paul’s passion for the stage was evident. He pursued his dreams, graduating from Newton North High School and later earning a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from UMASS/Boston. His talent and dedication led him to the bright lights of Hollywood, where he found his place in the world of television and stage, earning a significant role in The Next Karate Kid in 1994, a milestone that granted him membership into the Screen Actors Guild (SAG).
Paul’s impact extended beyond his immediate family. He was a beacon of joy, humor, and warmth to his extended family and friends. Known affectionately as “Paulie,” he was the glue that bound everyone together, whether it was through his legendary Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings or his spirited Fourth of July celebrations in Salem, Massachusetts.
You can catch Paul Bronk in several well known and loved movies, such as The Next Karate Kid (1994), The Crucible (1996), Me, Myself & Irene (2000), Ted (2012), R.I.P.D. (2013), American Hustle (2013), and The Equalizer 2 (2018).
As we dedicate the March 2024 Cabin Fever Show to Paul Bronk, let us remember him not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the light, laughter and incredible characters he brought into our lives and the legacy of love he leaves behind. Paul may have left the stage, but his spirit will forever shine bright in our hearts.
