Guy Gilchrist is a famous artist, writer, comic strip creator, and songwriter. He worked as Jim Henson’s cartoonist and drew the “Muppets” comic strip for 660+ newspapers worldwide from 1981 to 1986. He also contributed to Henson’s “Fraggle Rock” and “The Muppet Babies”. His Muppet artwork was honored by First Lady Nancy Reagan in 1984 and is displayed in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. He made Nancy’s hometown, Three Rocks, a suburb of Nashville in 2013. He retired from writing Nancy in 2018 after 23 years.
He has written and illustrated 42 books for children, including the award-winning “Night Lights & Pillow Fights”. He won the Reuben Award from the National Cartoonists Society for Best Book Illustrator in 1998 and 1999. He also won three Children’s Choice Awards from the International Reading Council.
