The NorthEast Comic Con & Collectibles Extravaganza is proud to welcome artist and writer Dan Parent to Boxboro MA this November 23-25, 2018. Dan is an American comic book artist and writer, best known for his work for Archie Comics. A graduate of The Kubert School, Parent began working for Archie immediately after graduation. His writing of the Love Showdown series in 1994 received widespread attention. Parent has illustrated a wide variety of titles, including Felix the Cat, Barbie, Disney Adventures, and more.
In fact, Dan Parent introduced the first openly gay character in Archie Comics, when he created Kevin Keller in Veronica #202, which he both wrote and drew. He recieved the GLAAD Media Award for Outsanding Comic Book in 2013, and was nominated for a 2013 for a Special Award in Humor in Comics for the Harvey Awards.
You’re probably familiar with the (incredibly long, and hilarious) movie series Sharknado – Dan Parent actually illustrated the comic Archie vs. Sharknado, a tie-in to Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! He’s also illustrated the crossover Archie Meets Batman, where the Caped Crusader of Gotham City heads to Riverdale, when Mr. Lodge becomes the Bright Knight’s latest enemy.
Dan will be in attendance at the NorthEast Comic Con on November 23-25, 2018, offering original art, commissions, and “Archiefied” portraits of visitors! Don’t miss this holiday shopping event for nerds, and the people who love them. With live music all weekend, celebrity autographs and panels, collectibles, vintage toys and clothing, kids crafts, video games, Cosplay, amazing artists and writers, and more! NorthEast Comic Con & Collectibles Extravaganza is back at the Boxboro Regency Hotel in Boxboro MA for Thanksgiving weekend.
