Bob Eggleton is a legendary sci-fi, fiction, fantasy, and horror artist. He’s has been honored with the Hugo Award for Best Professional Artist eight separate times, with this first win in 1994. He also won the Hugo Award for Best Related Book in 2001 for “Greetings From Earth”, an art book published the year before. He’s also won the Chesley Award for Artistic Achievement in 1999 and was the guest of honor at Chicon 2000.
Bob Eggleton‘s drawing and paintings cover a wide range of science fiction, fantasy, and horror topics, which perfectly fits the NorthEast Comic Con and our family of guests and fans! His art regularly depicts space ships, alien worlds and their inhabitants, dragons, vampires, and many other fantasy creatures. He thought that space ships should look organic, and says that his childhood self was disappointed with the space shuttles and rockets that NASA produced; they were nothing like fantasy artists of yesteryear had promised.
Bob Eggleton is a fan of Godzilla, has illustrated numerous comics, magazines and children’s books based on the character. He’s worked as a creative consultant on the American remake. While in Japan he appeared as an extra in the 2002 film, Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla.
Eggleton will be joining Akira Takarada, known for his roles in the Godzilla film series, as well as other actors, artists, musicians, cosplayers, and more at the NorthEast Comic Con & Collectibles Extravaganza this November 23-25, 2018.
