Extra Life (www.extra-life.org) is a gaming marathon that supports Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (www.cmnhospitals.org) nationwide, including Boston Chidren’s Hospital. Last year, more than 40,000 participants raised a record-breaking $4 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and local gamers raised more than $212,000 for Boston Children’s. Extra Life is similar to a fundraising walk or run — you pledge to play games (any games from video to board) and are sponsored by family and friends. You’ll receive a personal fundraising page to customize and share. You don’t have to play all 24 hours at once. Divide your play into three or four segments, playing when it’s convenient for you. Start early or make up some hours after the 2nd. You can play from the comfort of your own home or get together with friends, co-workers or teammates. What matters most is that you’re supporting the kids.
