If you love music and singing along to your favorite tunes, you won’t want to miss the “Mach-a-raoke” karaoke show hosted by Cowboy Mach Bell at the NorthEast ComicCon Holiday Shopping Show! Mach will be hosting karaoke Friday and Saturday night, November 24 & 25, at 8pm. Choose a song, grab a friend, and hop on stage to show off your singing skills!
Mach is a rock singer, songwriter, and author who has been rocking the stage since the 1970s. He is best known as the lead singer of The Joe Perry Project, the solo band of Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry. He also fronted the Boston-based glam rock band Thundertrain, which was a popular act in the New England club scene in the late 70s.
Cowboy Mach Bell joined The Joe Perry Project in 1982, after Perry had left Aerosmith due to personal and creative differences. He recorded the third and final album of the project, Once a Rocker, Always a Rocker, which featured hard rock anthems like “Black Velvet Pants”, “Women in Chains”, and “Power Fever”. He also toured extensively with Perry, playing to sold-out crowds across the US and Canada. It was during this time that Joe Perry officially gave Mach his nickname “Cowboy,” a moniker that has stuck with him to this day.
However, life on the road was not easy for Mach Bell. He faced many challenges and hardships, such as drug addiction, financial troubles, band conflicts, and health issues. He also witnessed the reunion of Aerosmith, which led to Perry’s departure from the project in 1984. Mach Bell chronicled his experiences in his memoir, Rock Survival, which was published in 2019. The book is a riveting account of his rise and fall as a rocker, and his journey of resilience and redemption.
Cowboy Mach Bell is still active in the music scene today. He performs with his own band, The Mach Bell Experience, which plays original songs as well as covers of his classic hits with The Joe Perry Project and Thundertrain. He also hosts a radio show called Once a Rocker Radio, where he plays rock music and interviews guests from the industry. He is also a member of the New England Music Hall of Fame, and has been recognized for his contributions to the local rock scene. Mach is a true legend of rock and roll, who lives by his mantra: “Once a Rocker, Always a Rocker”.
