Get ready to be swept away on a flight of fancy! NorthEast ComicCon is thrilled to announce that the incredibly talented artist Marianne Plumridge will be gracing us with her presence at the March 2025 show! Prepare to be captivated by her breathtaking fantasy and wildlife art, a vibrant tapestry woven with intricate details and a touch of whimsical magic.
Plumridge, known for her stunning depictions of birds, robots, and other creatures, brings a unique perspective to the fantasy art world. Her work isn’t just visually beautiful; it tells stories. Each brushstroke, each carefully chosen color, invites you to explore fantastical realms and connect with the natural world on a deeper level. Come meet the artist behind these enchanting creations, discuss her inspirations, and acquire a piece of her art to call your own!
Plumridge has been honing her oil painting techniques in recent years, which has allowed her to return to her fine art roots. In an ongoing series of paintings, a quirky tin toy robot adventure shows technology getting lost in nature, and that’s just the beginning of her combination of the two worlds: robots and birds. Plumridge’s paintings of pointy rocket ships and cosmic whales continue to be popular and successful. These pieces are available online at the “Daub du Jour” blog.
Marianne Plumridge is experimenting with painting people again after rekindling her interest in figurative art and portraiture. On her second blog, “Muse du Jour,” she also posts notes and book reviews in keeping with her long-held writing ambitions. Plumridge’s essays, articles, and completed fiction have appeared in anthologies and magazines over the years.
Plumridge worked on the complete text for a book called “Bob Eggleton’s Ice Age America,” in collaboration with her husband. It features essays, epic artwork, and visions of prehistoric peoples, megafauna, flora, and most notably, mammoths and mastodons. “If Dinosaurs Lived In My Town,” a children’s picture book published by Sky Pony Press in November 2013, was Plumridge and Eggleton’s first joint work as author and artist. In addition, the cover of Analog Science Fiction & Fact’s November–December 2017 issue included a rocket painting of Marianne Plumridge.
For art enthusiasts, collectors, and anyone who appreciates the beauty of the natural world intertwined with fantasy, Plumridge’s appearance at NorthEast ComicCon is a must-see event. Imagine getting an original sketch, a signed print, or simply having a conversation with an artist whose work resonates so deeply. It’s a chance to connect with the creative spirit and bring a touch of magic into your life.
