The NorthEast ComicCon & Collectibles Extravaganza is set to take place from March 7-9, 2025, at the Boxboro Regency Hotel in Boxborough, MA. Among the many exciting guests, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the creators of the “Toking with the Dead” comic book series, Jeff Homan and Ben Bartlett.
Jeff Homan and Ben Bartlett, lifelong friends, have brought to life the “Toking with the Dead” comic book series. This series offers an educational experience on medicinal cannabis and its unique effects, using zombies as the test subjects. The premise is both hilarious and action-packed, providing an adult educational take on the ever-changing cannabis industry.
“We found out by mistake that when a zombie gets cannabis in their system, they no longer want to rip your face off. Instead, they indulge in snacks and walk around aimlessly. But once they start to come down, they subconsciously realize it actually alleviated the pain for flesh. The only problem is now they want more cannabis,” Jeff and Ben explain.
Since their launch in 2018, Jeff and Ben have expanded their message into multiple industries, growing from the comic book series to a multi-platform live broadcast show filled with talent from all industries. “We love being able to bring other people’s messages to our amazing fans, friends, and familia,” they share.
In early 2020, they decided to take their mission to the next level by signing on with Bill Diamond Productions to film a live-action series coinciding with each comic book release. “We wanted to have another fun way to help educate and break the stigma of cannabis, and what better way than through film,” they say.
Their main goal is to always have fun with whatever they are doing, always moving forward in the process, and staying true to their beliefs.
The NorthEast ComicCon & Collectibles Extravaganza promises to be an exciting event for nerds, fans, collectors, and the people who love them. The event will feature vendors selling comics, toys, art, books, memorabilia, crafts, and pop culture collectibles. Attendees can look forward to a rare appearance by legendary Marvel Editor, writer, and creator Roy Thomas, who will be signing books and other flat items for any donation to his charity. Marvel and DC writer and creator Gerry Conway, co-creator of The Punisher, will also be appearing, signing books, prints, and art for a fee.
Celebrity guests include Barry Bostwick (The Rocky Horror Picture Show), Kristine DeBell (Meatballs), Mark Rolston (Aliens, Star Trek, Shawshank Redemption), and more!
The event will also feature after-parties on Friday and Saturday nights, Create-A-Character Cosplay Contests, Kids Cosplay Parade, Cosplay Lip Sync-Sation, NorthEast Idol Project, Cosplay Karaoke with the Stars, and Voice Actor Workshops. Vendors and artists will be open from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, with a preview for VIPs opening at 3:00 pm. On Saturday and Sunday, doors will open at 10:00 am, with special VIP access at 9:00 am. Celebrity guests’ schedules will be posted online, but most will appear on Friday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sunday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
