Steve Lavigne is an American comic book illustrator best known for his work on the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” (TMNT) series for Mirage Studios. Born on September 22 in Maine, Lavigne attended Westbrook High School with TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman. He began his career at Mirage Studios in 1985, becoming the first full-time artist hired by Eastman and Peter Laird. Lavigne’s contributions to the TMNT series include lettering, coloring, and creating iconic characters like Cudley the Cowlick, Sgt. Bananas, and Stump and Sling.

Lavigne continues to create covers for IDW Publishing’s TMNT comics and regularly participates in comic conventions, signing books and taking commission work.
