Baglio’s lifelong affair with music began at the tender age of 11 when he received his first electric guitar, a Harmony Roy Smeck model. This early introduction ignited a passion that led him to his first guitar lesson, where he learned the iconic intro to ‘Johnny B. Goode.’
With a career spanning over five decades, Baglio has penned and performed countless songs. His hit track “Never Tell an Angel (When Your Heart’s on Fire)” made waves on the Billboard Hot 100 in July 1983, peaking at number 88. His latest endeavor, an album titled “Rectifier,” was released in October 2022, with his current bandmates, The Amplifier Heads. Rectifier featured the song Space Cadette a former Coolest Song In The World on Little Steven’s Underground Garage on SiriusXM.
Baglio first left his mark with The Stompers, an American rock band formed in East Boston in 1977. The band quickly became a staple in Boston-area bars after their first show in Beverly, Massachusetts. They had the privilege of touring with The Beach Boys and The J. Geils Band in 1980. Baglio has since performed with various bands, including Tom Hambridge & The Rattlesnakes, and formed a rock, soul, acoustic, and blues-infused trio with Jon Butcher and Allen Estes.
In addition to his live music projects, Baglio can be heard every Wednesday night from 6-8pm on https://wrbrock.com/ for his live streaming radio show “Rock & Roll Love Letters with Sal Baglio”.
