NorthEast ComicCon presents the 40th Anniversary of the Collectibles Extravaganza, June 28-29, 2025 at the Boxboro Regency Hotel, in Boxborough, MA! Just 30 minutes outside of Boston!
It’s been 40 years since Gary Sohmers began producing the Collectibles Extravaganza at the NorthEast Trade Center in Woburn MA, as part of Jolly Jim’s Flea Market. His collectibles shows included an appearance by TV’s OG Batman, Adam West, and led to the hugely successful Bayside Expo shows. The Collectibles Extravaganza has continued to this day, in various forms and at many different venues, bringing together different niches of collecting into one fun (and profitable!) show for vendors and attendees alike.
April 15th has come and gone; some of us conquered tax season like responsible adults, others perfected the art of “strategic procrastination” (there’s always an extension, right?). Meanwhile, the spring and summer show season is revving up, giving us all an excuse to step outside and pretend the country isn’t teetering on the edge of a reality show plot twist. The economy might take a nosedive by June, while some elected officials continue to prove that common sense is not a job requirement.
The good news is that we’re in the secondhand game! We deal in treasures of the past – some of them “investment grade”, others just conversation starters – and we’re selling goods untouchable by tariffs! We are the heart of the collectibles community: NOT some faceless mega-corporation! So, we trust our central MA collector community will keep showing up, because if there’s one thing people can count on, it’s the thrill of finding something old that suddenly feels new again.
June 28-29, 2025 is the 40th Anniversary celebration of the Collectibles Extravaganza! For $10 (or less, with advance purchase) attendees can experience a shopping show full of local small businesses selling second hand goods without the increased cost of celebrity guests – or the worry of ever increasing tariffs. Vendors will be set up in the Exhibit Hall (no Ballroom this time), and there’s still plenty of time to reserve your space before the end of June!
