AnimeFest added to SouthCoast Comic Con

Boston SouthCoast Comic Con & AnimeFest - December 9-10 2017
The Boston South Coast Comic Con & Anime Fest, produced by Fantastic Gatherings, Inc. is a family friendly, fan-centric convention dedicated to providing a safe, affordable and fun event for all attendees, exhibitors and guests. The Nerds and Otaku we all are and love being.

Fantastic Gatherings is dedicated to fan-tastic experiences.  We tailor each event to cater to the specific audience and fan who will most benefit from the location.

BSCCC will continue to feature all the fan favorites of comic cons and pop culture events including cosplay, costume contests, video game free play and competitions, celebrity guests signing autographs and photo opportunities, panels, VIP Experiences, and vendors of vintage and modern toys, comic books, records, jewelry, clothing, art and other pop culture must-haves, along with Artists and Authors and Entertainment.

Featured celebrity guest is Jeremy Jordan, Tony Award winner for Disney’s Newsies on Broadway and currently co-starring on The CW Networks hit TV show “Supergirl.” Also appearing will be Gigi Edgley from “Farscape.” Nicholas Brendon from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” Emmy award winning puppeteer Bill Diamond, Mark Goddard of “Lost In Space,” Danny Tamberelli of “The Adventures of Pete and Pete” and Chasen Hampton of “The MIckey Mouse Club” among others.

AnimeFest welcomes fans of all generations of Anime. From “Astro Boy,” making his first appearance on CBS stations in 1963, through “Hello Kitty,” “Sailor Moon,” “Pokemon” and “Dragonball Z,” to “One Punch Man” from feature films to gaming, it’s likely that Anime can be part of Everyone’s Experience.

AnimeFest will host manga artists and voice actors who are part of the anime spirit. And there will be vendors who have not only new anime related wares, but those who sell collectibles that are an opportunity to have a piece of a very special past.

Featured anime guest will be Jennifer Cihi from “Sailor Moon” performing her songs in concert, doing a panel and meeting fans. She will be signing autographs for free included in admission.  Jennifer Cihi is a Broadway and television star best known for being the singing voice of Sailor Moon in the iconic songs, “My Only Love” and “Power of Love.”  She was also in the Broadway National Tour of Annie and starred on the Nickelodeon series “Roundhouse.”

Also a featured guest crossing over from anime to animation is Christopher Corey Smith, well known as the voice of Lego Joker in the “Lego Batman the Movie – DC Super-Heroes Unite,” along with appearances as Headmaster Kaien Cross from “Vampire Knight,” Yasuharu “George” Shimaki from “Gantz:0” and Spandam from the anime film “One Piece: Gold,” among others along with video game voicing in “World of Final Fantasy,” “World of Warcraft” and several Lego titles.

Inviting the cosplay community, we will be adding Anime-centric cosplay competitions, panels, guests and video showings. Our signature Create-A-Hero, Create-A-Villain and Create-A-Character contests encourage creativity in costuming with prizes, along with cosplay games and pose-offs on the dedicated Cosplay Stage all weekend.

Hanover Mall loves fans and cosplayers, and has lots of space for Photo Ops, roaming, food, Movie Theater and Stores … and Santa Claus for your December Cosplay Holiday Picture!

Not to be left out, we continue the young fan experience with special activities in the Kids Comic Clubhouse, where young fans and their parents can learn from comic book artists, voice actors, and others involved in this creative community.

This fan convention isn’t at a hotel, it is in a beautiful former JC Penney store with a lot of room for cosplay, contests, vendors and fun. The admission is low with weekend passes available for only $20 or $30 at the door.  Children 10 and under are free with adult.
